The first direct New York-to-Israel flight by a Constellation plane, the “Mazel Tov,” which is owned by the Israel national airline, El-Al, was completed here. The airliner, the first Constellation acquired by El-Al, was grooted upon its arrival at Lydda by a number of high officials, including David Romez, Minister of Education.
Mr. Romez said the plane will begin a full schedule of flights between New York and Lydda in April. The flight takes 22 hours.
