Contributions to the Zionist. Organization of America and the American Zionist Fund remain tax deductible, as heretofore under the recently issued Internal Revenue Service regulation concerning the deductibility of charitable contributions to American philanthropic organizations with overseas programs, it was announced today by Carol Picket, national chairman of the Finance Committee of the ZOA.
In an accompanying statement, David Oppenheim, tax counsel of the Zionist Organization of America, stated: “In my opinion, the recent ruling by the U.S. Treasury Department does not affect the deductibility of contributions, bequests and other grants to the Zionist Organization of America, the American Zionist Fund or Agricultural Training Institute Kfar Silver in Israel.”
