Problems affecting Jewish communal activities in the United States will be discussed at the 59th annual meeting of the National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, the central body of Jewish social workers, which opens here tomorrow. The four-day meeting will be attended by more than 2, 000 persons engaged in Jewish social work.
The problems scheduled for discussion deal with all phases of Jewish life in this country–religious, educational, vocational guidance, care for the aged, community centers, group work, child care family services, health and rehabilitation, and community relations. The impact of Middle East developments upon American Jewish communities will also be discussed, as will the question of overseas relief work.
Parallel with the meeting of the National Conference of Jewish Communal service, the 39th annual conference of the National Association of Jewish Center Workers will be held here. The conference will evaluate the impact of changing patterns in American group life on Jewish family and organizational life in general and on the Jewish community centers in particular. It will also consider techniques and programs for transmitting Jewish values in the Jewish community centers.
