A comprehensive re-evaluation of the position of Orthodox Jewry in the United States on many Jewish and communal issues, including church-state issues, will be undertaken by the 64th anniversary biennial convention of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, which opens here tomorrow for five days at the Sheraton-Park Hotel.
Moses I. Feuerstein, president, said that the convention will consider the position of the organization on such specific problems as sectarian practices in public schools and federal aid to parochial schools and sectarian colleges. Speakers who will address the convention include Avraham Harman, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States; and Rabbi Joseph H. Lookstein, acting president of Bar-Ilan University in Israel.
