A dispute concerning this temple has been going on for the last few years between the local Jewish section of the Communist party and the temple board, the Communists demanding that the temple be converted into a Communist school.
The authorities have now reached a compromise and the synagogue will not be turned into a Communist school, but will be used for the accommodation of the local Soviet.

The Central Burean of the Jewish Section of the Communist Party intervened in the matter, demanding that the Hebrew schools be discontinued and Yiddish schools be introduced instead.
