The cornerstone of a Bible House, the fifty-fourth house of this kind established by the Bible Society all over the world, was laid here yesterday. High Commissioner Lord Plumer laid the stone. The Anglican Bishop conducted the services.
The construction of the Bible House will cost not less than £ 10,000 which is already available for that purpose, it was stated. In his address, the High Commissioner emphasized that the work of the Society is denominational.
English Hebrew and Arabic texts of the Bible, as well as the Greek version of the New Testament, were placed under the stone.
