Father Charles E. Coughlin has announced to his congregation at the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, Mich., that he will not resume his broadcasts this fall, it was reported here today.
The radio priest declined to go into the reasons for his decision, it was reported, except to say that the reasons would be evident from the replies of broadcasting companies to his applications for time on the air. He had been scheduled to resume his broadcasts on Oct. 13. His agent, Aircasters, Inc., had been finding difficulty in contracting for time because of the new National Association of Broadcasters code barring controversial talks such as Coughlin’s.
