The American Council for Judaism today issued a statement praising the suggestion by Secretary of State John Foster Dulles that the Arab-Israel issue be removed from discussion in the Presidential election campaign this year.

“If success is possible in obtaining a bipartisan approach to the Arab-Israeli problem, it would be a long step toward peace in the area; a peace which is indispensable to the welfare of our co-religionists in Israel to hundreds of thousands of Jews who are citizens of the Arab states and to the Arab states themselves,” the Council statement said.
