Six new directors have been named to the board of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, it was announced today by Herbert R. Abeles, Council president. They are: Judge Theodore Levin of Detroit, A. G. Ballenger of Chicago, Henry L. Zucker of Cleveland, Mrs. Elmer Moyer of Dayton, I. J. Mnockin of Kansas City and Louis Stern of Newark. The first four were named to fill existing vacancies while the latter two automatically became members of the Council board when they were elected regional presidents.
The CJFWF is the national association of 250 community councils welfare funds and federations representing over 800 Jewish communities throughout the United States and Canada. The Council provides central services in community organization budget research, social planning and campaign and community interpretation.
