Court proceedings were started today against the anti-Semitic National Democrats (Endeks) for attacking Jewish members yesterday during a session of the Municipal Council here. A number of Jewish and non-Jewish councillors are in the hospital today recovering from wounds received during the bloody clash.
The riot started when one of the councillors shouted, “Down with Polish Hitlerites,” during a discussion on the budget. The members of the anti-Semitic National Democratic Party then launched an attack on the Jewish and Socialist councillors at the session.
Furniture and inkwells were hurled in the fight, during which several members of the Council were severely injured. The Jewish councillor Nutkiewicz was taken to a hospital in a serious condition. Other Jewish councillors, including L. Mincberg, president of the
