Official Czechoslovak circles here today described as an error a broadcast on the Pregue radio yesterday which said that planes attached to the German forces which have refused to surrender to the Red Army twice bombed Therestenstadt. They said that the town of Lito-Mercice, near Theresienstadt, had been bombed.
There are 1,300 Jewish internees still at Theresienstadt, these Czech sources aid, who cannot be released immediately because they are suffering from typhus. They stressed that everything possible has been done for the victims and that medical units have been sent to the camp.
A broadcast on the Prague radio heard today instructed national liberation committees in the vicinity of Theresienstadt to send units of armed men to the camp to prevent the inmates from escaping. The broadcast explained that the guards were necessary because the Jews were suffering from infectious diseases.
The Supply Commission in the Czech capital, according to another broadcast, has instructed all food offices to replace ration cards stamped with the word "Jew" with ordinary cards.
