The crisis in the citrus growing industry in Israel which led to a strike of the citrus fruit growers and which brought hardship to both workers and owners in the industry was scheduled to be settled today.

Finance Minister Eliexer Kaplan, on behalf of the government, will sign an agreement granting the growers a subsidy of 62.5 percent of the value of their crops. The citrus industry, which provides much of Israel’s exports, was hard hit by competition in the foreign markets this year.
