Crossword puzzles in Palestinian newspapers and other venues routinely deny Israel’s existence and contain anti-Semitic references, according to a Jewish watchdog group, Palestinian Media Watch. For example, Haifa is described as Palestine’s best known port city, the Jewish trait as “treachery,” Yad Vashem as the place that “commemorates the Holocaust and the lies” and Jerusalem as “the Palestinian capital from the dawn of history until eternity.”
