Representatives of leading Jewish musical and cultural organizations have been meeting to develop a Jewish Music Council, it was announced today at the office of the National Jewish Welfare Board. The group will strive “to perpetuate and develop an appreciation of Jewish music through a pooling of the resources of all Jewish groups”, the announcement stated. The group also announced as its first project the inauguration of Jewish Music Week throughout the nation from May 20th to May 30th.
