The Czechoslovak Ministry of the Interior today denied reports broadcast by foreign radio stations that Czech Jews who registered as of German nationality in the pre-war census are being expelled from the country.
(A report to the JTA from Prague last week said that the wholesale expulsion of such Jews from the Sudeten city of Litomerice was prevented by the intervention of the Jewish Community Council. The report emphasized that the expulsion was postponed temporarily. The Jews were given the choice of “emigrating” voluntarily before Sept. 8, or being deported after that date.)
