Czech Jews to Celebrate Masaryk’s Birthday

The eighty-fifth birthday of President Thomas G. Masaryk of Czechoslovakia will be celebrated tomorrow by all Jewish communities in the nation with huge meetings and special prayers.

In Praha 50,000 kronen will be donated by the Jewish community for general welfare work and 10,000 kronen as special contribution for the Kfar Masaryk, the colony which the Jews of Czechoslovakia are establishing in Masaryk’s name in Palestine, Dr. Reiner, president of the Praha Jewish community announced today.

A huge meeting of Jews paying tribute to the president will take place in the Ceremonial Hall of the Jewish Town Hall on Thursday, at which prominent Jewish leaders will publicly express their thanks to President Masaryk for his pro-Jewish attitude and for the moral support which he has given on a number of occasions to Jewish work in Palestine.
