A Czechoslovakian scientist who was scheduled to participate in a scientific conference on land physics and technology at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot has been prevented from leaving his country. The conference opened today. A cable received at Rehovot from the scientist said: “Cannot reach Israel. My passport and exit visa which were in my possession were taken away last minute.” Four members of the Rumanian delegation to the conference also did not appear although they sent the papers they had prepared for the meeting. One of them cabled that he was unexpectedly sent on a scientific mission elsewhere.
