The Czechoslovak Government has established the opening of a Talmud Torah in Prague for the first time in many years, it was reported here today at a meeting of the Agudas Israel executive.
The situation of religious Jews in Slovakia has also improved, H. A. Goodman, chairman of the executive, reported. He said that Chief Rabbi E. Katz of Slovakia has requested religious articles for which there is a growing need. Jews who in the past had no association with Jewish communal life in Czechoslovakia are rejoining communities, he reported. He revealed that arrangements were being made with Chief Rabbi Moshe Rosen of Bucharest to send two Orthodox rabbis to Hungary.
