President Eduard Benes who last week was re-elected for the third time has denied that he ever stated that “anti-Semitism is practically inevitable” and that “I would vote for it that the Jews of Europe should emigrate to Palestine.
“I never said anything of the kind,” he told Mrs. Arne Laurin, widow of the late editor-in-chief of the Prager Presse, leading pre-war Czech newspaper. He authorized Mrs. Laurin to make his denial public in the United States where his alleged state ments were published.
