The relative merits of Mexico, Ukrainia and Palestine as territories for settling large numbers of Jews as farmers is discussed editorially in a recent issue of the “Jewish Daily Eagle”of Canada.
“From the information we have it is evident that Mexico is industrially undeveloped and does not desire an influx of Jewish peddlers and hucksters. While to settle Jews on the land in Mexico as suggested by the Mexican president, Calles would be an exceedingly difficult proposition for more than one reason. In this respect Ukrainia is certainly preferable, if for no other reason than that the Jews would remain in a country in which they are thoroughly acclimated and the cost of travelling to Mexico would be avoided.
“On the other hand, Russia today has no need of new farmers.
“There is one other place: Palestine. If a way could be found of opening the doors of Palestine to a large Jewish immigration, both Mexico and Ukrainia could be wiped off the slate as territories for Jewish settlement and the problem would be solved in the most desirable way.”
LEADER OF POLISH JEWRY SCATHES POLISH GOVERNMENT
The recent statement of the Polish Foreign Minister, Skrzynski, that the Minority problem in Poland has been settled satisfactorily, in so far as the Jews are concerned, is compared with the actual state of affairs by A. Hartglass, Jewish member of the Sejm, who dwells on this matter in an article published in the “Neuer Haint” of Warsaw.
“Skrzynski’s statement”, says Hartglass, “comes only a few weeks after the Polish government has issued the decree forcing the Jews in the eastern Provinces not only to practically assimilate but even to become ‘Polonizers’ of other minorities.
“How does this compare with the Foreign minister’s statement? How about the compulsory Sunday law forced on the Jews? How about the fact that the public fairs, which are so important to the Jews, have been set by the government for Saturdays? And how about the school budget for 1925?
“Let us glance at these figures. For the Catholic schools the government has assigned 14,000,000 glotis; for the Greek-Catholic schools, nearly 1,000,000; for the Mohemedans, more than 47,000 and for the Jewish schools-10,000 zlotis! There are in Poland some 15 million Catholics, about 5 million Greek-Catholics, over 3 million Jews and several thousand Mohamedans. Hence, in the opinion of the Polish Government a Catholic is 300 times better than a Jew, a Greek-Catholic is 150 times better and a Mohamedan is 800 times better than a Jew.
“This is what the Polish government calls ‘equal rights” and a satisfactory settlement of the Jewish minority problem!”

Ford’s new invention that Dawes, author of the famous Dawes Plan, is a tool in the hands of Jewish bankers, will help to discredit Ford, the anti-Semite, in the eyes of the American people, is the opinion of the “Jewish Daily News”, which says editorially in its issue of Nov. 19:
“Ford will not succeed in his efforts to disgrace the Jews nor the Dawes Plan, of which America is proud as the only proposal which can bring Europe back to a normal state.”
