All the London dailies carry to-day long reports of the debate in Congress in which Representative MacFadden and Senator Reed made their accusations, The “Daily Express” Political Correspondent publishes a big front-page story over the heading “International Financiers Fane a Storm”, and after stating that “the campaign against international financiers, which has been going on for some time in America, reached its climax in Congress yesterday, when they were accused of being the authors of most of the world’s present ills”, he proceeds to say:

What has been going on in New York has been going on in varying degrees in other capitals. The international financiers of London have not escaped. There is a feeling that they have exerted too powerful an influence on Government financial policy. They advised and urged the return to the gold standard in 1925. This proved a terrible blow for British industry.

The only “international financier” financier” mentioned by name in the “Express”, however, is not a Jew, Mr. Ivan Kreuger, the Swedish match king.
