“The British public has noticed with annoyance the manoeuvres of the Mandates Commission of the League of Nations, which in attempting to put the British nation in the dock, is subjecting the British administration to bitter criticism for the performance of costly and thankless duties in Palestine,” says an editorial in the “Daily Mail.” The criticism, says the “Daily Mail,” is by states none of whom would undertake “our unprofitable task with all its painful and expensive commitments. Financial stringency will force us to relinquish Palestine some day, and the sooner we are out of it the better.”
