Dante Almansi, chairman of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities from 1939 to 1945, died here today at the age of 71. In 1943, during the German occupation, Almansi was forced to deliver to Gestapo General Hans Kapplar in Rome 110 pounds of gold as a contribution from the Jewish community.
