Wilhelm Huth, vice-president of the Nazi-controlled Senate of the Free City of Danzig, today told a Danzig group meeting in Hamburg, Germany, that “all opposition parties will be eliminated in Danzig by the end of the year,” according to reports received here.
This was the first time a responsible Danzig government officer ever confirmed the warnings frequently voiced by Nazi leaders in Danzig, the Havas News Agency reported.
Senator Huth also said that Danzig citizens in Germany are under the protection of Chancellor Adolf Hitler, thereby contravening the Danzig constitution, which places Danzig citizens abroad under the protection of Poland.
