What is world Jewry planning to do for Jews of Danzig?
This question is being asked today in the “Danziger Echo,” a German Jewish newspaper published in the Free City, in connection with the dissolution of the Danzig Diet which was voted last week by a majority of forty-one against twenty-two and which places Danzig practically under the full administration of the Nazis.
The paper appeals to the Jews of England and America to take into consideration the fact that at least thirty per cent of the Jewish population in Danzig is entirely dependent upon relief. The paper comments especially on the plans of British Jewry to start a campaign for the relief of the Jews in Poland and asks if any funds will be raised for the Jews of Danzig.
