David Bernstein has been appointed executive director of the American Jewish Tercentenary Committee, it was announced today by Ralph E. Samuel, chairman. The committee will organize the nationwide celebration in 1954 of the 300th anniversary of Jewish settlement in the United States. Mr. Bernstein, who is assuming his new duties immediately, resigned last month after more than two years as assistant to the Administrator of the Federal Security Agency Oscar R. Ewing.
