David Horowitz, Governor of the Bank of Israel, today linked the future of Israel to the growth of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Speaking at a luncheon in his honor given by the American Friends of the Hebrew University, Mr. Horowitz described the university’s role in providing the experts needed to develop Israel’s economy and to chart the country’s future physical and cultural development.
The luncheon was also addressed by Senator Jacob K. Javits of New York, who lauded the Hebrew University for its contributions to the development of the newly independent countries of Asia and Africa by training students from these countries.
