David Starr, managing editor of the Long Island Press has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Robert H. Arnow, JTA President, announced today. Mr. Starr, 47, has been managing editor of the Long Island daily since 1962. He is a member of the American Society of Newspaper Editors and of the Associated Press Managing Editors Association and has served as president of the New York State Associated Press Association. A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Starr is active in the communal and cultural life of Long Island. He is a trustee of the Nassau Community College of the State University of New York, a director of the Health and Welfare Council of Nassau County and a vice president of the United Fund of Long Island.
