A day-long skirmish occurred today on the Israeli-Lebanese border in which mortars and small arms were used. Six Arab terrorists were hit during the operation which was divided into two main encounters–one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. A group of terrorists was sighted in the area known as Fatahland, and the Israelis opened fire. An Israeli communique stated six terrorists were hit. There were no Israeli casualties. Towards sunset the terrorists apparently withdrew and quiet returned to the area. Reports from the area said smoke was seen coming up from the Fatahland area, possibly from fields that caught fire.
