High Holy Day services for the deaf will be conducted in the sign language in the assembly hall of Temple Emanu-El, Fifth avenue and Sixty-fifth street, Sunday at 8 p. m., Monday at 9:30 a. m., Tuesday at 8 p. m., and on September 19, at 9:30 a. m.
Rabbi Harry Gutman will deliver the sermons, which will be translated simultaneously into sign language. Psalms will be delivered in rhythmic motions, without the accompaniment of voices, by a choir of deaf mutes.
The services are sponsored by the Hebrew Association for the Deaf. The Jewish deaf of New York City will be admitted by tickets which may be obtained by applying to the Association.
