A Navy chapel for the use of Jewish personnel was dedicated at the Great Lakes Naval Station in the presence of Rear Admiral S. W. Salisbury, the Navy’s chief chaplain, and Rear Admiral Francis P. Old, commandant of the 9th naval district. Com. Joshua Goldberg, district chaplain of the 3rd naval district, delivered the invocation. Chaplain Irwin M. Blank said that there are about 300 Jews stationed at the base and about 150 attend. Friday evening services regularly.
