To celebrate the opening of the Wattenberg Hall of the Einstein Institute of Mathematics and Physics of the Hebrew University in Palestine, a dedication dinner will be given by the American Advisory Committee on Thursday, November 15, at the Hotel Astor, at seven o’clock.
The principal speaker will be Dr. Chaim Weizmann, President of the World Zionist Organization, who will discuss the relation of the Hebrew University to the development of Palestine. Phillip Wattenberg, the donor of the Wattenberg Hall, will be guest of honor.
The Wattenberg Hall of the Hebrew University was formally opened in the presence of a large assembly, on October 31. The cornerstone of the building was laid on April 2, 1925, by the Earl of Balfour, coincident with the formal opening of the University. The Wattenberg Hall houses the Department of Mathematics. The Physics Building, towards whose erection Mr. Wattenberg has also largely given, is in process of erection.
The American Advisory Committee, under whose auspices the dinner is to be given, is headed by Felix M. Warburg, Chairman; Judge Julian W. Mack, Mr. Walter E. Meyer, Vice-Chairmen. Among the members are Dr. Cyrus Adler, Dr. S. Benderly, Hon. Benj. N. Cardoza, Hon. Irving Lehman, Dr. Emanuel Libman, Dr. S. Lowenstein, and Dr. Stephen S. Wise.
