Defense lawyers pleaded for leniency during the sentencing trial of the woman convicted of failing to try to prevent the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. The judge delayed until later this month the sentencing of Margalit Har-Shefi, who was found guilty in June of failing to warn police about Yigal Amir’s plans to carry out the November 1995 assassination. The offense carries a maximum sentence of two years.
