The Ministry of Finance denied categorically here today that there are plans for basic changes in Israel’s four-year economic development program as a result of the delay in the talks on securing a link between Israel and the European Common Market.
There are no changes in Israel’s expectations that an economic agreement with the European Common Market will be reached, a Ministry spokesman said, or in Israel’s assessment of her prospects for achieving such an agreement.
At the same time, it was announced here today that Amiel Najar, Israel’s Ambassador to Belgium and Israeli envoy to the European Economic Community, which has its headquarters at Brussels, has also been assigned to establish an Israel mission accredited to the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel organization. The latter has its headquarters in Luxembourg, to which Mr. Najar is also accredited as Israeli Minister.
