“Latin America has shown a constant interest in the development of life in Israel and today sympathy toward our cause is even greater than in 1947,” Dr. Moshe Tov, head of the Latin American Department of the Israel Foreign Office, declared today at a luncheon given in his honor by the delegates at the United Nations of all 20 Latin American republics.
Dr. Tov has just completed a goodwill tour of Latin America during which he conferred with Presidents and Foreign Ministers of a number of countries. Dr. Tov, who held the position of Ambassador Extraordinary on his tour, will return shortly to Jerusalem. At the luncheon, Jose Vicente Trujillo, Ecuadorean delegate, spoke. Israel’s delegate, Abba S. Eban, greeted Dr. Tov.
