Delegates to the second conclave of the World Council for Yiddish welcomed at the closing session Thursday an announcement by Jewish Agency Treasurer Akiva Levinsky, that the World Zionist Organization and the Jewish Agency would seek to assist the Yiddish and Jewish press to prevent any possibility of collapse. Yitzhak Kom, who was re-elected chairman of the Council by unanimous vote, said the Council had decided to proceed with the planning of two seminaries to prepare teachers of Yiddish. He said both seminaries would have high academic standards under the auspices of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The Council announced a $100,000 fund to publish books of Yiddish writers and to assist translation into Hebrew.
