Secretary of State Christian Herter today received a delegation of presidents of major Jewish organizations and participated in an exchange of views on American interests in the Middle East.
Philip M. Klutznick, chairman of the Presidents’ Conference, declined to state the specific matters discussed in the 45-minute meeting. He indicated that the meeting had been useful and productive. Other delegation members were Mrs. Rose Halprin, Dr. M. Eisendrath, and Adolph Held.
Israel Ambassador Avraham Harman conferred during the week-end with Secretary Herter on state problems of mutual interest to the two countries. An Embassy spokesman declined to elaborate on topics covered.
