The Liberal Party which came second in the by-election at Tutova, where Professor Ion Zelea Codreanu, the father of Deputy Zelea Codreanu, the leader of the antisemitic terrorist organisation, the “Iron Guard”, was elected to Parliament, has lodged a protest against his election, demanding its annulment.
The protest is made on the ground that the candidate of an organisation which has been suppressed by the Government, and is now illegal, cannot sit in Parliament, and cites in support the annulment of the election of all the Communist candidates returned in the last general election.
As the Parliamentary session has closed, the protest cannot come up for consideration until Parliament reopens in the autumn.
