“We have called on the American State Department for immediate action and on the German government through its representatives here,” was the statement issued by the National Committee for the Defense of Political Prisoners, through its Secretary, Dr. Joshua Kunitz, with regard to the attack made upon Edward Dahlberg, American novelist in Berlin, by uniformed German Nazis.

Mr. Dahlberg, who is the author of “Bottom-Dogs” and “Flushing to Calvary,” is a member of the National Committee for the Defense of Political Prisoners. He was attacked and badly beaten, early this week, first on the Kurfurstendamm, and later within a Berlin police station.
