He was the principal speaker at a demonstration against anti-Semitism staged today at the headquarters of the Red Army here. J. Larin, prominent Communist leader and active in the Jewish colonization work, also spoke.
The soldiers unanimously adopted a resolution to fight race hatred in the Red Army. A delegation of Red Army soldiers will be sent to visit the Jewish colonies, it was announced.
In a factory in Borovitchi two brothers, Lavrentiev, were sentenced to two years’ imprisonment each on the charge of spreading anti-Semitic propaganda.
An interesting incident occurred in the town Soviet of Borovitchi. The Soviet was discussing the question of anti-Semitism. One of the members, Malishev, rose to declare that in his opinion there was no need of fighting anti-Semitism, but rather to fight the Jews. The Soviet thereupon adopted a resolution denouncing Malishev for his utterances.
