An Arab anti-treaty demonstration occurred at Amman when the High Commissioner of Palestine, Sir John Chancellor, arrived for the formal ratification of the Anglo-Transjordanian treaty, Arab sources report. Several deputies, heading a crowd of shop-keepers, proceeded to the palace, protesting against the treaty and the Zionist policy in Palestine. Sir John left Amman quietly in order to avoid a repetition of the demonstration, the report states.
Ezra Rachlin, 12-year-old boy pianist, gave a recital Sunday evening at Carnegie Hall, Master Rachlin comes from a musical family. At his debut in Berlin he received enthusiastic comments from German critics including Adolph Weissman and Fritz Brust of Berlin. The New York critics praised his technique but pointed to his immaturity.
Henry L. Samson died at his home in White Plains. N. Y., as the age of 69. He was one of the first workers in the Parent-Teachers’ Association and one of the founders of the Bronx House which until 1911 was the only social settlement in the Bronx.
