About 40 students demonstrated for two hours last night outside Lincoln Center where the Moiseyev Dance Company of Moscow opened its current U.S. tour. The “counter-performance” organized by the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry, was joined by groups representing the New York Chavurah, the Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry, the Ocean Front Council for Soviet Jews and others. Songs, chants, speeches and posters greeted first nighters as they arrived at the theater. The demonstrators carried signs reading “Detente With Honor: Save Soviet Jews” and “Yes the Jackson Amendment.”
