President Eisenhower, Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion of Israel and other leaders joined today in lauding Adolph Kiesler, Denver’s famous Jewish philanthropist, on his 80th birthday. Mr. Kiesler, who has contributed about $1,200,000 in 17 years to a variety of Jewish, Zionist and general causes, was honored at a community-wide dinner Tuesday night.
President Eisenhower said, in his message, that Mr. Kiesler had “in the highest American tradition of philanthropy, “helped” many worthy enterprises regardless of race, color or creed.” Mr. Ben-Gurion welcomed Mr. Kiesler’s forthcoming visit to Israel with a United Jewish Appeal Study Mission and sent his “greetings and best wishes.”
Other messages were received from Philip Klutznick, former president of B’nai B’rith, and Irving Kane, president of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds.
