Deny Sympathy for Zionism Voiced by Egyptian Consul

Contrary to reports which appeared in the Palestine press, the Egyptian consul in Jerusalem did not voice sympathy with the Zionist work in Palestine. A statement to this effect was issued by the Foreign Minister here.

It was reported that during an interview with Chief Rabbi A. J. Kook, who called at the consulate on the occation of King Fuad’s birthday, the Egyptian consul had expressed such sympathy.

Ground breaking ceremonies for the erection of a new synagogue for the Tifereth Israel Community Synagogue, Des Moines, lowa, were held this week. Louis Oransky, the Congregation’s president, turned the first spadeful of sod. Rabbi Lewis B. Grossman is rabbi of the Congregation.
