The Vienna Jewish Community today issued an appeal to emigrants to hand over a part of their fortune to the community to help prospective emigrants and to feed those no longer able to earn a livelihood. The appeal points out that 15,000 persons are being fed daily by the community, which is also providing shelter for thousands pending their emigration. More than 4,000 Jews have been helped to emigrate by the community. At the same time the emigration department is asking the Jewish population to supply information about persons who were able to emigrate without the community’s help.
