The deportation by the Nazis of 300,000 Jews from the Warsaw ghetto – about one-half of the entire Jewish population in the ghetto – was reported here today.
The report does not indicate to where the Jews are being deported. It states, however, that mass-deportations of Jews from the Warsaw ghetto to undisclosed destinations have been going on for some time.
Jewish organizations here which received the report today expressed fear for the immediate future of all the Jews in Nazi-occupied Poland in view of unconfirmed alarming information reaching Switzerland that the Gestapo is demanding the annihilation of all Jews in Poland as “elements detrimental to the security of Germany’s interests in Eastern Europe.”
