A Dutch edition of Julius Streicher’s bitterly anti-Semitic weekly Der Stuermer appeared here today. The paper, which it is believed was published with the aid of money from Germany, is written in a peculiar mixture of Dutch and German and contains vitriolic attacks on prominent Dutch Jews.

Immediate action against the paper is impossible because only one house of the Dutch legislature has passed a bill prohibiting anti-Semitic incitement, proposed by Minister Van Schaik. The bill must pass both houses and be signed by Queen Whilemina before it becomes law.

Nazi propagandists are known to be very active in Holland and secret Nazi groups have been known to terrorize exiles who have fled from Germany. Recently Heinz Liepmann, refugee novelist, was sentenced to prison for one month on the charge of having insulted President von Hindenburg in his novel, “Murder-Made in Germany.” After his sentence was served Her Liepmann was deported to Belgium.
