Despite repeated threats of death to members of the court unless they released the anti-Semitic agitator, the Sighet court today extended for another thirty days the arrest of the anti-Semitic leaders, Fathers Bereindi and Dumitrescu. The two priests have appealed against this decision and demand their release on bail until their trial.
Col. Nicolescu, another agitator who has been under arrest for 30 days, had his request for release under bail granted by the court, but the appeal of the public prosecutor prevented his release and he will remain in prison until the court at Campolung considers his case September 16.
The appeal of the Bucharest public prosecutor against the acquittal of Zelea Codreanu will come up this week before the High Tribunal. This is causing some anxiety in view of possible renewed demonstrations and increased agitation.
