A gift of $500,000 to create a medical library in the Medical Center of Wayne State University of Detroit has been announced by the Shiffman Foundation, which was set up by Abraham Shiffman, Detroit philanthropist.
The library will be named in memory of the donor’s first wife, Mrs. Vera Parshall Shiffman. The gift raises to $2,000,000 contributions by the Foundation to various causes.
Mr. Shiffman has also made many personal gifts, including one of $500, 000 for the Shiffman Clinic at Sinai Hospital, as well as substantial contributions to Brandeis University, the Jewish Community, and his regular contributions to the Allied Jewish Campaign.
