Detroit Jews Proclaim Holiday for U. P. A. Drive

Wednesday, April 7th was proclaimed a Jewish holiday in Detroit in honor of Chaim Nachman Bialik, Dr. Stephen S. Wise and Dr. Schmaria Levin, who will visit Detroit on that day. The Hebrew schools will be closed.

The drive for Detroit’s quota of $125,000 will be launched at a banquet at the Hotel Statler. Mayor John Smith will welcome the Zionist leaders on behalf of the city. Edgar Guest, American poet, will speak at the banquet. A mass meeting will be held Wednesday night.
